CELEBRATING THE RESURRECTION ON EASTER!

Mar 16th, 2010 by pastormary | 0

On Easter Sunday, April 4, NCC worship participants who arrived at Alta Laguna Park at 6:30 a.m. enjoyed a quiet, meditative service of Native American ritual, flute and Holy Communion in quiet Christian reflection as the sun rose in the East.   The earth’s gentle beauty as the day began reminded us all of God’s ever-present life-giving love.

At our 10:00 service in the sanctuary, we welcomed home the Century-Old Mason and Hamlin Piano, with glorious music from Steve Wood, Beth Fitchet Wood, and Pam Wicks.  The service began at the tomb, in darkness, as narrator and dancers re-counted the story of that first Easter and its surprisingly joy-filled ending.  The children then decorated the sanctuary with Easter lilies in a gloriously dis-organized Easter parade as the lights began to rise on our sanctuary.  Our pastor the Rev. B. J. Beu spoke of our own tombs and darkness that can haunt our lives if we forget to live as an Easter people with hope and faith in the new life always around us and within us.  We sang, we prayed, we clapped, we laughed, we thought, we pondered, and we worshipped.  After the service of worship, children enjoyed a light-hearted Easter egg hunt and all enjoyed refreshments and conversation in Bridge Hall.  Join us any Sunday at 10:00 a.m. as we celebrate that every Sunday is Easter Sunday!
