ISRAEL AND PALESTINE… A Conversation About Peace

Apr 15th, 2010 by pastormary | 0

Thirty people gathered on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 7:30 PM for JOY Ministry’s “ISRAEL AND PALESTINE…
A Conversation about Peace.”  David Lloyd, Sandra Olewine, and David Pine shared their experiences, observations, analysis and expertise on the region and the challenges to piece in that corner of our earth, sacred to so many pilgrims of faith.

We are so appreciative of their leadership and guidance in this conversation.

David Lloyd – professor of English at USC, founding member of the US Campaign for Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel and organizing member of BDS-LA, working on their campaign “Thirsting for Justice”, concerning Israel’s virtual monopolization of West Bank water resources and denial of water rights to Palestinians.

Rev. Sandra Olewine – pastor, The Neighborhood, a United Methodist Community Downtown, Long  Beach, the Methodist liaison in Jerusalem from 199-2006 where she facilitated meetings between tourists and Palestinians and Israelis from across the political, religious and social spectrums to help create peace with justice advocates.

David Pine -  West Coast Regional Director, Americans for Peace Now, an organization working to enhance Israel’s security through peace, organizing community programs and activities to help promote a comprehensive political settlement of the Arab-Israeli conflict, including a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine.
