What keeps us close to God? In scripture it is God’s self and us. It is a partnership.
From Psalm 130: I will wait for the Lord…for his love is steadfast. I will wait.
From the gospel of John: I am the bread of life whoever comes to me will never be hungry, whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.
A change happens between Old and New Testaments--We no longer need to wait. Jesus calls us to not wait any longer for some hidden secret to life but to come close to him. As always in the gospel of John, Jesus offers an invitation to believe. And, in our believing, despite what circumstance we may face this day, to have everything we need.
Come this Sunday to remember, not what you don’t have, but what has been freely given that your faith may make you well.
In Christ's Love,
Reverend Heather Miner
