Our church is officially affliated with The United Church of Christ (UCC), a Christian community of churches who focus on living as Christ’s disciples in a growth-filled, inclusive, justice-seeking way. We are active members of the Southern California Conference of the United Church of Christ, and locally affiliated with other UCCs as part of California’s Southern Association.

We, the Congregation of Neighborhood Congregational Church, declare ourselves to be an Open and Affirming congregation and church. With God’s grace, we seek to be a congregation that includes all persons, regardless of sexual orientation, gender, marital status, age, mental and physical ability, race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic background. We welcome all to share in the life and leadership, ministry and fellowship, worship and sacraments, and responsibilities and blessings of full participation in our congregation.
Our Passion for Outreach and Social Justice
The United Church of Christ intentionally advocates for justice throughout the world. Learn more about our UCC justice stance and work at our UCC Justice and Witness Ministry website.
We at Neighborhood Congregational Church are passionate about advocating for justice and striving to be a “justice church.” We seek to be caring, informed and cooperative in studying and acting upon the challenges to justice in our community and our world. We have a moral obligation to seek the truth behind current issues with forums, films, speakers. We educate our youth, involving them, and make informative programs available to the community. Our Justice Ministry Team is called Justice, Outreach, and You (JOY), and offers educational programs and missional opportunities to seek and create justice throughout the year to our church and our community.

God is big enough to love everyone! Watch The Language of God to hear about the God who welcomes everyone!
What if God is big enough to love all and exclude none? God is!
What if God speaks through a painting, or a theorem, or a protest, or a poem? God does!
What if, in feeding my mind, I could feel my spirit, too? You can!
What if the people around me also wanted to change the world? They do!
What if there was a small corner of the world where I could be loved and accepted as I am? There is!
