"Peace & Justice for All" Sunday Service with Reverend Rod
Sunday, October 15, 2017 - 10:00am
Welcome to Neighborhood Congregational Church's series on Progressive Christianity:
What is Progressive Christianity? Inquire Within!
Week 6: Peace & Justice for All
Scripture: Matthew 25:37-40,43-45
This Sunday will focus on the justice and peace aspects of our progressive faith. Jesus points our hands and feet in the direction of the "least of these," all who need compassion, hope, and promise for their lives. I love this quote by Gandhi: "There is a higher court than courts of justice, and that is the court of conscience. It supersedes all other courts." I encourage you to put your conscience to work this weekend on behalf of the affected people in Venezuela, who are struggling under the heels of an oppressive and retaliatory regime. Let's make a real difference together! Details on our fundraiser can be found in this week's Sandpiper; take a look and help out as you are able! This Sunday, we affirm our commitment to justice and peace for all!

Progressive Christianity is a collaborative approach to the Christian tradition and to the life and teachings of Jesus. We are called, as a community of brothers and sisters, to listen, to behold and to question. Designed for the inquisitive, the open-minded, and the spiritually curious, we hope to engage one another in an honest and respectful search for understanding, compassion and authenticity. Have questions? Inquire Within!
Come join us each Sunday morning throughout the series for an enlightening message from Pastor Rod, engaging children's activities, and special music with a variety of guest soloists! Childcare is available each Sunday from 9:45am to 11:45am. Please stay after service and join us for coffee and fellowship in the courtyard.
