Special Council Meeting
Thursday, July 17, 2014 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm
Whoever You Are And Wherever You Are On Your NCC Journey…
You Are Welcome at the July 17 Council Meeting *TOMORROW NIGHT*
NCC is a unique church, blessed with a beautiful location (and grounds), accomplished leaders who donate their expertise to governing the life and growth of our church, a passionate group of ‘elders’ who broke ‘Open and Affirming’ ground and protect the history of the church, and a spirit-filled Pastor who as an ambassador, encompasses our ‘all welcoming’ core in the local community.
During this time of growing pains, which is not unique to NCC, we are calling all congregation members to come together once again, to discuss the various leadership paths we may walk down together, in order to ensure the stability and growth of our beloved church.
Cementing the new model of having the Congregation ‘in’ from the beginning, on issues, ideas, and initiatives that arise, we invite you to an open and productive dialogue at the next Council meeting tomorrow night, Thursday July 17, in Bridge Hall.
I pray that Spirit calls those who are weary of the ‘squabbling’ to attend. I pray that Spirit calls those who feel things are ‘moving too fast,’ or who have any mistrust of current leadership to attend. I pray that Spirit calls everyone in between, and all who are motivated to participate fully in the life of NCC. Remember that decisions are made by those who show up. We look forward to a positive and product meeting.
Whoever you are and wherever you are on your NCC journey – you will be welcomed.
We have a formal agenda for the meeting – which most importantly we hope – will have a healing component, facilitated by our own Phyllis Truppa.
Agenda for Thursday July 17 Council Meeting:
- Opening of the Council Meeting and introduction of the Agenda - Moderator
- Discussion on various pastoral models which may best serve the size and goals of our church – led by Pastor BJ
- Discussion of elements from the past and the transition to the current NCC Congregation – led by Phyllis Truppa
- Discussion and Small Group work - facilitated by Ann Feyerherm.
Please plan on attending this important meeting in the life of our church.
Thank you, and please call or email me, or your members at large (see box below) with any questions or concerns.
