Sunday Service at NCC - Communion Sunday
Sunday, April 3, 2016 - 10:00am
Come join us Sunday mornings for an enlightening sermon by Reverend Jeff Utter, engaging children's activities, and special music with a variety of guest soloists!
Communion Sunday is the first Sunday of each month, and Healing Touch Sunday is the third Sunday of each month. Sunday Morning Childcare is available each Sunday from 9:45am to 11:45am.
Notes for this Sunday's service:
Sunday’s scriptures call us to look forward rather than backward, and to envision God’s future instead of focusing on our past. The new things that God can do in Christ Jesus are perceived through the eyes of faith—eyes that are guiding us into God’s future. The psalmist cries out from the depths, noting that if God marked iniquities, none could stand. We are asked to wait for God, hoping and trusting in God's steadfast love. For us, this means turning our eyes forward, trusting in the promise of “new things” and new life that arise from God’s Easter miracle. Hope in the midst of despair is a powerful gift, a challenging call, and a healing balm.
Scripture reading: Psalm 130; Philippians 3:4-14
Message: "Pressing On"
