Sunday Service at NCC - Mother's Day
Sunday, May 8, 2016 - 10:00am
Come join us Sunday mornings for an enlightening sermon by Reverend Jeff Utter, engaging children's activities, and special music with a variety of guest soloists!
Communion Sunday is the first Sunday of each month, and Healing Touch Sunday is the third Sunday of each month. Sunday Morning Childcare is available each Sunday from 9:45am to 11:45am.
Notes for this Sunday's service:
Scripture reading: 1 Samuel 1:19-21, 24 -28; Luke 1:39-49
The traditional American Mother's Day is, we hope, evolving from its origins in an era when gender roles were rigid in our society, and women's place was considered to be "in the home." Years ago our UCC renamed this day, calling it "Festival of the Christian Home." But motherhood is also broader than the family home. Sunday's message will offer some reflections on the divine origin of motherhood.See you Sunday!Jeff
