3-6-16: Pain of the Heart

Scripture: Psalm 63:1-8; Isaiah 55:1-9

Sunday’s scriptures call us to look honestly at our own lives. Are the things that we “eat and drink”—the things that we take into our lives—are they truly nourishing us? Isaiah tells of those who buy “bread” that is not bread. These passages call us to the true food of God’s wisdom, love, and mercy. The invitation to dine and live—“Come to me and live” (Isaiah 55:3)—awaits our response: Coming, listening, repenting, and living anew.  See you Sunday.
