6-14-15: As Much As We Are Able To Hear

Scripture:  Mark 4:26-34

Jesus compares the kingdom of God to a tiny mustard seed that grows into a shrub large enough to offer refuge to the birds of the air. Parables of the kingdom of God are mysterious, puzzling, and evocative, as they invite us on a journey of self-discovery. Jesus does not cram such teachings down our throats, but lovingly offers us only as much as we are able to hear. Such is gracious way of our God who calls us to embrace and nurture life in ways we do not understand. Life is a mystery, and we walk by faith. Come and listen to as much as you are able to hear.
