6-26-16: The Grace of Otherness (NCC's ONA 10th Anniversary Celebration)

The sin which separates us from God also separates us from one another. One of the most destructive forms this takes is our distancing ourselves from and judging negatively those who are different from ourselves. The more different others are, the more reasons we come up with to find fault with them! Jesus came among us to expose this sinful human behavior, to empower us to change it, and then to welcome into our into our hearts precisely those who are different from ourselves, and in so doing to enlarge our own being.
