02-02-14: Finding the Narrow Gate: Becoming A Child Of God

Jesus exhorts us to enter the narrow gate, but how do we do that? The Beatitudes offer us a clue. Jesus says that the peacemakers shall be called the children of God, but isn't that true of everything Jesus is asking of us? As Henri Nouwen asks: "Isn't the little child poor, gentle, and pure of Heart? Isn't the little child weeping in response to every little pain? Isn't the little child the peacemaker hungry and thirsty for righteousness and the final victim of persecution?" (The Return of the Prodigal Son: A Story of Homecoming). Jesus invites us to enter the narrow Gate, to become children again, and touch the realm of God. See you Sunday.
