Friday, May 30, 2014 - 7:00pm to Saturday, May 31, 2014 - 6:00pm
Open the Door to Your Personal Healing
Somé is considered one of the foremost voices in African Spirituality. Her name means ‘Keeper of the Rituals’ and so, she travels the world lecturing on the practical and transformational power of her Dagara tribe’s ways, philosophies, and rites. Dagara rituals involve healing and preparing the mind, body, spirit and soul to receive the spirituality that is all around us. "It is always challenging to bring the spiritual into the material world, but it is one of the only ways we can put people back in touch with the earth and their inner values.” No experience is necessary. Thousands of people have had deeply transformational and life changing experiences by participating in this workshop. "The Grief Ritual not only allows for healing for the part of a person that has been hurt, but it's also a way of acknowledging that something else is being born in the Self…Grief is a doorway to healing, it is also a doorway to accessing one's power...and getting into one's creativity." Sobonfu Somé
On Friday Evening May 30th at 7PM, Sobonfu will give a lecture on the role of Ritual in the Dagara culture and tradition, and on the nature of grief and how it can affect our lives, if we do not release it properly. On Saturday May 31st, from 9AM to approximately 6PM, Sobonfu will lead the Dagara Grief Ritual.
